An Introduction to Elephant & Castle
Elephant and Castle, in South East London, has been an important travel junction since Roman times. Old Kent Road and Newington Causeway, two of the main roads that converge at Elephant and Castle, roughly follow the path of two Roman routes that led to Londinium, the capital of Roman Britain.
However, it was between 1890 - 1940 that the area really came to life, earning its nickname, the ‘Piccadilly of the South’. Now, it is still a busy road junction, but it is also an area of entertainment, education and ever evolving eateries. The area is due to be transformed into a new town of modern tower blocks, our
estate agents advise you to get ahead of the curve, and add Elephant to your list of potentials.
