About London Bridge
London Bridge is a concrete and steel river crossing built in 1973. The bridge itself may not be overly interesting, but the area surrounding it offers a wealth of markets, restaurants, bars, and hidden gems waiting to be uncovered. You will never run out of things to do, or see, if you live in London Bridge.
Travel Links in London Bridge
London Bridge is the fourth busiest train station in the U.K., and is well connected to both London itself, and the wider country. The station offers services to the rest of London on the Northern and Jubilee London lines. The station also runs Thameslink, GTR and SouthEastern railway services to areas such as Brighton, Canterbury, and Tunbridge Wells. The area is conveniently located in the heart of London, on the south bank of the River Thames, so you are also within walking distance of much of the city.
LONDON BRIDGE LOCAL’S TIPS
London Grind is an industrial style bar and restaurant that serves up killer coffee and cocktails, the espresso martinis are not to be missed. Or, if you fancy something a bit more educational, the Clink Museum is a two-minute walk from London Bridge. This museum is actually a prison that dates back to 1144, making it one of England’s oldest, and most notorious, prisons. This is the prison that gave its name to all others.
